Legendary R&B Singer Teena Marie Dies!

In sad news, legendary R&B singer Teena Marie passed away yesterday at her California home. It is being reported that Lady T was found by her daughter. The cause of death has not been confirmed. She was 54.

R&B singer Teena Marie was found dead on Sunday at her California home, CNN reported.

Born Mary Christine Brockert, the 54-year-old singer and songwriter was found by her daughter after apparently dying in her sleep, manager Mike Gardner said.

The celebrated artist is most remembered for her songs "Lovergirl," "Portuguese Love," "Ooo La La La," and "I'm a Sucker for Your Love."

Nominated for four Grammy Awards, Marie was also known for her relationship with funk legend Rick James.

No cause of death has been released, however her publicist revealed that the singer suffered a grand mal seizure about a month ago.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Expecting Twins!

Mariah Carey and hubby Nick Cannon are expecting twins in the Spring. While performing at the Christmas charity event in Washington last week, Mariah told President Obama and First Lady Michelle that she was carrying twins.

The first people to be told the happy news? Only President Obama and the First Lady!
Cannon let the world know Thursday on his radio show. But he also revealed that Carey let it slip to an even better known couple, who our friends at The Page would call POTUS and FLOTUS. And props to the Obamas, who apparently asked Carey backstage, at a charity event in Washington last weekend, about reports that she's expecting twins (we know what you're thinking: how the heck does the world's most powerful person have time to keep up on celebrity gossip?)

Cannon told his listeners, "At this point she hadn't told anybody anything because doctors advised us to keep it ourselves until we get further along in the pregnancy. But because of the excitement, she was overwhelmed and she shared with the President and First Lady that we are having twins." And Cannon confessed on air that, "I haven't even told my wife I was doing this, so I am probably going to get yelled at for not getting permission."

So you are engaged to Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson who is an athlete. Tell us Evelyn, I thought you had sworn off athletes?
Initially when I made that comment I had just come out of a 10 year relationship. I met Chad a year after my separation and I definitely had time to myself. I'm not going to judge Chad on what my ex did. This is a new relationship and chapter for me and I'm very happy.

When you tweeted a picture of the engagement ring, you did indicate "let the hate begin", have you gotten any backlash? Do you really care at this point?
[Laughs] There are always haters and without haters this world would be a lonely place! Everyone has an opinion about my relationship. To be honest, I could give a sh*t! It's my life and no one else's.

You have an earring line that you are debuting? What can we expect? Price range; where will it be sold; when can we see these earrings on the market?

Career in a nutshell:
I work in a family business founded by my late father over 60 years ago. Today our group comprises over 50 companies in the Gulf region in real estate, automotive distribution, engineering and construction, retail, food services and media, and is managed by my two brothers and I. In 2004 I wanted to expand our retail division nto luxury. Today, our luxury division comprises of over 40 stores in the Gulf, representing brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, Hermès, Balenciaga, Chloé and Roberto Cavalli. We have also developed two Saks Fifth Avenue department stores, one in Dubai and the other in Bahrain, with plans to open more.

How did you pick your career path:
I spent many years growing up in London where I developed an early love of fashion and remember applying for a job at every fashion boutique on the Kings Road. At 14 I finally found a weekend job at a multi-brand store. I really enjoyed it and began to acquire an insight into the world of retail that would prove crucial for my career.

Who is your career role model:
My father was a very humble and down to earth man, and was known for being very honest and trustworthy. He taught us many great values such as to treat our employees with dignity and respect.

What ambitions do you harbour:
I would like to get more involved in art, photography and design. I would also like to get more involved in philanthropy and maybe take some time off everything to do just that.

What do you wear to work:
I’m usually wearing a pair of jeans by Dior, PRPS or Dolce & Gabbana. An Hermès or Balenciaga hoodie, Rick Owens tank top and leather jacket with a pair of sneakers or Louboutin hi-tops. Sometimes I wear a suit – only Giorgio Armani made to measure – with an Hermès shirt, belt and shoes. When I’m in the GCC I like to wear my traditional attire; thobe and ghutra, which is so comfortable and I love the fact that it’s tailor made and you can choose between different fabrics. Besides, it’s part of my culture and heritage.

Who is your dream woman:
I think a man’s dream woman changes as he goes through different stages in his life. I’m fortunate to be dating my dream woman now. (awwwwwwwwww)

What is your dream boy’s toy:
Ha! That’s funny because my girlfriend [singer Janet Jackson] just bought me the most amazing gift; a 1964 Lincoln Continental convertable with suicide doors… and it’s in mint condition. That’s my ultimate boy’s toy.

Is greed good:
Greed is terrible. I think we need to learn how to be content with what we have. Money doesn’t buy happiness, nor do material things.

Aretha Franklin Diagnosed With Pancreatic Cancer!

We need to keep Aretha Franklin better known to us as the Queen of Soul in our prayers as she has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Last week, it was reported that Franklin had gone through a successful surgery for an undisclosed illness but now there has been a sudden shift in the story.

Aretha Franklin is suffering from pancreatic cancer, a source familiar with the situation has told The Detroit News.

Franklin, 68, has been quiet about the nature of the illness that caused her to cancel all upcoming events, although she did say last week that she'd successfully undergone a surgical procedure.

The Detroit News contacted Franklin's publicist, Tracey Jordan, who did not have a comment from the Queen of Soul.

Franklin's longtime friend, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, said in an interview with The Associated Press that he has visited with the legendary singer four or five times recently, including a few days ago, and that Franklin's "spirits are high, and her faith is strong."

Singer Alicia Keys has teamed up with her celeb friends for a Digital Death campaign benefiting her Keep a Child Alive organization. On December 1st which is World Aids day, several celebrities such as Swizz Beatz, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Serena Williams and many more, logged off all social network sites (i.e. Facebook, Twitter) and have vowed not to get back on until theyr each their goal of $1 million dollars.
