Terry McMillan Apologizes For Her Comments About The Smith Kiddies!
Well, well, well... someone is changing her tune. Author Terry McMillan took to Twitter yesterday to express her feelings about how she felt that Will and Jada Smith were exploiting their children, Willow and Jaden by putting them in the limelight. If you missed it, you can go here to get a quick refresher. Well, everybody has been talking about it. Not because I like the Smiths' but I thought it was very insensitive of Terry to speak about people's children especially on Twitter. Anyway, she's back and this is what she had to say:
Let me just say this, that's big of her to apologize and I'll leave it at that...smh... at Terry. #EPICFAIL! | Reactions: |

Author Terry McMillan Goes In On The Smith Kiddies!
Author Terry McMillan is not holding her tongue when it comes to Will and Jada's children. Yesterday, she took to Twitter to express her feelings on Willow and Jaden being exploited.
The Smith children already act like child stars. There’s an arrogance in their demeanor and behavior. I find it incredibly sad. It feels like the Smith children are being pimped and exploited. Or, they’re already hungry for fame. What about 4th grade?A lot of A-list movie stars shielded their children from the Hollywood-world until they were old enough to decide. Look at those who didn’t.
Look at Lindsay. Phoenix. To name but a few. They miss out on childhood. It’s more important than fame. These kids don’t already know what they “love”. Total bullshit. They’re not prodigies. They think Hollywood is real.
Why don’t they do a remake of The Little Rascals and call it a day? Or, come up with an original film with some ethnic pride. Come on. Okay. I’ve said enough about the Smith children. I’m not debating about them. It’s just my opinion. People can justify anything, though.
In 4th grade my son came home complaining that the kids in his school said I was famous and rich. I told him that was not true. That some of my books were popular but not everybody liked them. That we could afford a vacation. “Oh” he said, and went back & repeated it. I wanted him to think of me as his mother. He didn’t read any of my novels until he was 15. He only read 26 pages. Was bored
Have a wonderful Wednesday everybody. I raised my son. I’m not wasting another minute worrying about how Will & Jada are raising their kids.
A lot of things can steal your soul. Especially when you’re not looking.
P.S. I loved the Karate Kid.
My thoughts- How is that any of your business Ms. McMillan and why would you go on Twitter to talk about people's children? Twitter? I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate it because you too have a child. I don't find the Smith children to display arrogance. I actually find the Smith clan to be well grounded. If this is the path that their kids want to follow, let them as long as the parents do what they need to do for THEIR children-emphasis on THEIR. Not all child stars turn out to be f*ck ups. Beyonce wanted to be a star from childhood- started rehearsing at the age of 9- a strict regimen might I add. She is well grounded and one of the biggest entertainers in the world. Her parents embraced her wish while doing the right thing for her. There's a huge sacrifice that comes with children that want to become entertainers. I find Will and Jada to be real about theirs. Terry I love you girl, put please go somewhere with that ish. Now, I need to go cop your book "Getting back to happy."

Hosea Chanchez Talks Perfect Date and Celebrity Crushes!
Actor Hosea Chanchez best known for his portrayal of football player Malik Wright on BET's The Game recently sat down with Vibe.com to discuss a few interesting things that we would be surprised to know. We’ve all seen Malik mack and get women, so which place or situation is Hosea most likely to meet ladies?
At the airport.
You’ve actually met girls that you would go out with there?
[Laughs] Yeah, why do you sound so shocked? I wouldn’t meet her at a club. If you are probably in the club you probably aren’t the chick for me. I say airports because I spend a lot of time in them, so that’s a perfect place.
What would be an ideal date for you?
Completely submerging myself in ‘her’ world. I’m a people watcher/learner. I can’t be like movies and dinner, that’s not me. I love to do those things but I like to find out more about people. So for me it would be about coming to her house, watch movies, look through her DVD’s. I am nosy as hell by the way [laughs] see what she’s watching, check her search engine to see what she’s been up to, I’m just kidding. Seriously it would be about submerging myself into her world whatever that may be.
Most celebrities have them; do you have any celebrity crushes?
Sanaa Lathan, Halle Berry, I could go on but I don’t want to bore you [laughs] Zoe Saldana, and Scarlett Johansson.
As someone who obviously works out in the gym a lot, which artists in your I-pod get you motivated?
I usually play Lil Wayne’s albums. Kanye West’s new album, every track I love. Blueprint & Blueprint 3 by Jay Z. Classics. I have a mix in my iPod but that’s the majority of what it is. Those are the artists that consume my mix.
You often treat your Facebook friends and Twitter followers to uplifting quotes. Is there a plan to maybe take it one step further and do to a self-help book or get involved with speaking engagements?
For me Twitter and this job in general as an actor, celebrity whatever you want to like to call it— is an opportunity to help people. I have a foundation called Watch Me Win that is all about youth empowerment. And I travel across this country empowering kids to be the best they can be. I believe it’s not what you do but what you do with what you have that makes you who you are. So for me, it’s my God given duty, it’s my right, it’s my calling to inspire and encourage and do my best to help someone else be a better version of themselves. That’s what I believe life is all about. Everything I do always goes back to that idea.
Airport ehh? I wouldn't mind running into him :)

Peter Thomas Sets The Record Straight!
Peter Thomas, husband of RHOA's cast member Cynthia Bailey recently sat down with Uptown Magazine for an interview. Brother man, did not hold his tongue. Well, if you watch the show or is familiar with Mr. Thomas, that Jamaican doesn't play... raaaaatid. In the interview, he spoke on the other housewives, his financial situation, and his relationship with Cynthia. Check it out:
ON ANDY COHEN AND THE OTHER HOUSEWIVES
I say anything I f—ing feel, because I don’t feel I need to answer to anybody but God. People are going on Andy Cohen’s show and being all careful—I don’t give a f-ck. If they ever put me on that sh–, I’m gonna say exactly how I feel, and that’s what people wanna hear. If he asks, “What do you think about the guys in Atlanta wearing heels?” I’m gonna say, “That sh-t is not cute.” If they say, “What do you think about the other Housewives?” I’m gonna say, “I can’t stand Phaedra’s ass. I think Kim is crazy as f–k. Nene has a big-ass mouth, okay? And Sheree’s not cute! She thinks she’s cute, but she’s not cute.” And this is ON the record. The only one I like is Kandi, and she’s too soft. That’s why she got played with Kim. And that’s how I truly feel.“ Dang, tell em' how you really feel son.

ON THE MONEY-LENDING INCIDENTAs much as I appreciate what she’s done, it probably came across to everybody that she put up all this money to help me build my restaurant. No. Initially, she put up $10,000. Uptown [Restaurant and Lounge] cost several hundred thousand dollars—$10,000couldn’t buy the silverware and the plates at Uptown. So it’s not like she’s supported my vision and gave me money to build a restaurant ’cuz that’s not what happened. And I want to clear that up. I didn’t agree with her putting that out there to the public. But she’s on a reality show and she’s a new jack to it, so she might feel as if that’s what she needed to do. I didn’t agree to that. But I didn’t oppose either, especially if she’s telling the truth. She has the right to say it. But I don’t want the viewers to leave with the impression, “Oh, sh-t. He got with this model girl and she’s putting up all this money to support his sh-t.” That’s not the way it is.
SHE CAN’T TELL ME NO
If I need her to do something for me again, she better step up. That’s part of her duty as a wife. Because she’s never gonna call on me and I say no—never. It’s my duty as a husband to provide whatever support to [help] her go forward. The show that I’m on is called Atlanta Housewives, not Atlanta Husbands. I’m not getting paid to be on the show. But I have to do it to support my wife. So I just gotta bite my lip, swallow my spit, and call it a day.
IS CYNTHIA GETTING HER MONEY BACK?
If that’s the last thing I do before I die, I’ll make sure that she gets her money back.
WITH INTEREST?
[Laughs] It doesn’t matter to me, because I never want any woman to run around saying what they’ve done for me. That’s just the kind of guy I am. I think a man’s job, when he gets with a woman, is to be the provider. If the relationship goes south, I don’t want things I gave you back. I’m a hustler—I know how to flip it. I know how to get back on my feet. A lot of women out there don’t know how to do that. All [they] got is a 9-to-5 check coming. They don’t know how to flip it. They aren’t risk takers like men are. You feel me? You know, most women. Some women are. I know for a fact that Miss Bailey isn’t. She’s not that kind of girl. If she has $100K in the bank, she would like to look at it knowing that it’s there. But me, I’m gonna invest it ’cause I want it to grow. That’s how we’re different. She doesn’t really go into a relationship for money. She’s had a lot of opportunities. A lot of major players have come to Cynthia Bailey, but she’s the type of person who can’t do it if she’s not emotionally into you. And that’s one of the most attractive things about her to me.
IN CASE IT DOESN’T WORK OUT…
Cynthia’s been independent for 11 years. She never lived with [actor and model] Leon; they just had a baby together. And she [believes] that whatever [she] makes, [she] has to hold on to it, because she’s responsible for not just herself, but also her daughter [Noelle]. Even though I’m there now, she still has the mentality that, “If it doesn’t work out with this Negro, for one reason or another, I would still like to have my money because it’s just me and my daughter.”
I do respect that what’s hers belongs to her. I have nothing to do with it. And what’s mine is mine. We have a prenup. But if I build something and she was by my side while I was building it, that’s definitely for us.
LOVE THE ONE YOU’RE WITH…
I wasn’t even one to get married. The same way she [Cynthia] didn’t want to get married, I didn’t want to marry nobody. I was dating this one celebrity and read in People magazine that she said she wanted to marry Peter Thomas. So I went left on her. But Cynthia is just a cool person. She’s someone I can live with. You feel me? I can live with the mistakes, and I can live with the ups, and I can live with the downs. And I never really, to be honest with you, felt that way before. So that’s why I’m in it. So let’s see what happens, because it gets more interesting as it goes along.
MODELS AND BOTTLES
I’m opening Bar One [in March, 2011], which is gonna be incredible. You know how Cindy Crawford’s husband got Whiskey Bar? He does extremely well with it—he’s got probably around 50 or 60 of them now. In our community, we don’t really have a lifestyle piece like that. You know, a very upscale lifestyle piece for 25 and older. So I’m starting Bar One. I’m definitely doing it here [in Atlanta], and I want to branch off to New York and Miami in the next 18 months. It’s gonna be ridiculously sexy. I’m [also] starting The Lifestyle Conference, which will take place Memorial Day weekend in Montego Bay. Russell Simmons came on board as a chairman for it. Steve Harvey just signed on to do the golf classic, and Shaggy just came on board also.
Well, there you have it folks.

Khloe Kardashian For YRB! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeerk!
Khloe Kardashian Odom did a shoot for YRB and babeeeeee, chick is working it. I've never seen Khloe this edgy and let me just say, she's a bad mama! Check it:

“I've always wanted to do an edgier photo shoot,” she quips. “But so often people think I'm not capable of pulling it off.” Forever being compared to her sisters Kim and Kourtney, Khloe is just about always viewed as the “big” one that people are a little skeptical to take the chance on. Standing at 5'10” (in comparison to Kourtney at 5'0” and Kim at 5'2”) and not nearly the size people think she is, Khloe is a real woman with the curves to prove it. She's quick to let you know it's a constant issue for her, but not one that will stop her from doing what she needs to get done. “I get tired of trying to show people I can do other things and experiment with my look just as much as my sisters. So what I do is wait for the platform to do something out of the box with people who believe I can do it, and when the doubters come back around and suddenly show interest after the fact, I now have the power and decide if I feel like entertaining the matter with them.”

The Game Breaks Rating History And Show Recap!
Yes I'm late with this news but in my world, I can get side track at times so please forgive me. Anyway, The Game returned to BET this past Tuesday after a two-year cancellation. The show who originally debuted on the CW, made ratings history. They averaged 7.7 million viewers. This was the network's biggest debut for a scripted series. For avid The Game watchers like myself, this is definitely some great news. For those of us who signed petitions, called the network and never gave up, we are doing flip and cartwheels. Here's my recap- The premiere episode was full of drama to say the least. The show picks up two years later and all of the characters have gone through some change. Derwin and Melanie
Derwin is now the franchise player of the Sabers. He is raking in the $$$! He and Melanie are married. Melanie has put her medical residency on hold to be a good wife to her ball player hubby. Derwin shares custody of little Derwin Jr. aka D.J. with Janay. Anyone who knows girl Melanie knows that this baby situation would not sit well with her. Soooo, what does she do? In true Melanie format, she swabs the baby and gives him a paternity test. Clearly Maury Povich wasn't involved in this scenario because one minute the baby is not Derwin's and by the end of the episode, the baby is really his. Uh-oh! Melanie done f*cked up now. Will she tell Derwin that she spoke too fast or will she keep this secret? We need to get ready because their marriage will be tested.
Tasha Mack
Tasha Mack is bag on top of her managing game as she represents Derwin Davis thus raking in the $$$. Rick Fox is out of the picture and now Tash is in full cougar mode. She's seeing Dante played by Terrence J. As much as Terrence J. annoys the h*ll out of me, I'm not mad at his character on the show. Some people threw up in their mouth when they saw him but I wasn't bothered. Tasha and Kelly are still at odds. Remember, Kelly opened a can of whoop *ss on Tasha because she had set Jason up with Camille played by Stacey Dash. Question: During the episode, Tasha was smoking a Black and Mild. What was up with that?
Malik Wright
Malik, Malik, Malik. Well dude is doing the Saber owner's wife played by Meagan Good. Malik is selfish as ever and he is going through it. I do recall Hosea Chanchez who plays Malik state in a recent interview that his character would be going to a dark place this season. I can see that. He's on the road. The road of mess.
Jason Pitts
Jason is divorced and seems to be fine with his decision. His main concern is putting down the Sabers organization who he feels he gave his blood, sweat, and tears for but yet doesn't get any recognition. Every chance he gets, he has plenty to say. Jason and Kelly are at odds especially when it comes to the way their daughter, Brit Brat dresses. Sidebar- WTH? I know we fast forwarded to two years but that little girl is too grown. Child Bye! Looking like a younger Raven Symone.
Kelly Pitts
Kelly has a new attitude; and when I say new attitude, I mean just that. New hair, new clothes, new tattoos, and new reality show. Yes, Kelly is filming a reality show a la Basketball Wives. No more Mrs. Nice Guy. All she worries about is spending Jason's money and talking smack. Oh yeah, she's looking for Tasha because they have unfinished business.
TT
Awwwwwwwwwwww TT is now a business owner and something is up with his hair. Looks like some products have been added to that hair. I'm just sayin'... He's tired of being Malik's door mat. Does Malik really care? NOT! Hence, him sleeping with TT's "life partner." I believe TT will be revengeful.
Some people thought there was too much going on. Not to be biased, but I thought it was important to show everything and from there all will slow down. Let's fasten our seat belts because it will go down this season. Dear BET, the laugh track... Ummm... please do something with it because it's not working.
Tune in to The Game on BET on Tuesdays at 10 pm.

January 12, 2010- January 12, 2011!
Today marks the one year anniversary when an earthquake measuring 7.0 on the ritcher scale ravished Haiti. On that particular day, as Haitians we all lost, some more than others but one thing is for sure, our lives would never be the same. There are times, when I try to block out what happened; strange, but true. I sometimes don't want to accept that this happened. An earthquake of this magnitude in Haiti? Impossible. There are still some moments of random disbelief. Maybe one day, I will be able to fully accept it or maybe I won't. Since I've been back from my recent trip to the motherland, I constantly question myself as far as what can I do to make a difference? How can I, MOI, Mitch contribute to the change in Haiti? I'm not looking for praise or accolades. I truly want to be part of something great that will benefit our country. I'm searching for answers. I hope God leads me to this answer soon because it's my time to do something. On that note, I wanted to share this open letter written by Stanley Handal. He lost his wife on that horrible day. She was at Caribbean Supermarket. So many lives were lost at this location. Some recovered and some not. His wife was never found. This letter is a reflection of after all that we have gone through this past year, some are only concerned about "self".January 12, 2010 – January 12, 2010. Today marks one full year since the images of the unimaginable first engraved themselves in our memories. As one of the many loved ones of the earthquake’s victims, today, I humbly write to you on behalf of those who perished under the weight of Caribbean Market and Euro Design at Delmas 95.
That day, my wife, Mrs. Paola Merove Pierre Handal, was on her way home. She made the choice to stop at your supermarket in good faith—faith that your engineers and you have chosen to disregard. Other buildings survived the earthquake. Yours did not!
Accounts from other survivors like, Ms. Faradiah Moise, confirm that my wife arrived at your supermarket only minutes before the earthquake. As usual, she headed straight to the “Wine and Spirits” aisle—alas, one of her favorite spots. Ms. Moise explains that my wife never moved from that spot. As if that day, she had an appointment in that aisle with death itself. As such, maybe this tragedy—my loss—was inevitable.
My wife’s body has never been found; as if, she had chosen to remain in that spot forever. Countless other customers who also frequented your establishment in good faith and numerous employees who loyally served you undoubtedly chose the same, final resting place.
Today, you want to rudely awaken them from their slumber?
Today, you want to erect another supermarket without regard for their loss, without paying homage to their memories, without respect for the suffering of their loved ones and without remorse for the insult of your actions on their families.
In fact, today, countless survivors bypass Delmas Road simply to avoid reliving the tragedy through the gruesome spectacle of the open coffin that has come to represent Caribbean Market.
After my open letter to you last June, you finally agreed to begin clean-up efforts—albeit six (6) months late. Nonetheless, several individuals volunteered to help. Like us, these volunteers thought that your intention to transform the site into a memorial was noble and therefore warranted our support. Dozens of volunteers helped—some for free and others at discounted rates.
However, after our last telephone conversation, I found it hard to listen to your new selfish plans and accept them. Yet again, you have disrespected the faith placed in you.
Today, are you ready to unveil your plans to the public? Today, are you ready to add reinforced cement on the ashes of our victims?
Every laying of bricks, every strike of the hammer, every cubic meter of cement poured I assure you will be heard far and wide.
Shall we assemble in Aisle 4? Lay our flowers in the “Crackers and Nuts” Aisle? Grieve for our widows, parents, spouses, brothers, sisters, friends and other loved ones as we grab our carts? If this is the case, then I concede that it would be appropriate to have boxes of Kleenex tissues on hand and at competitive prices, of course!
However, I find myself too incensed to find consolation in such a plan. Guilty already of indecency, now you betray us with deception. I denounce the defamation of this tomb where our grief will be replaced with your profits and our loved ones will be swept under your flagstones.
In the name of all the victims and their families, I challenge you to redeem yourselves. Together with the numerous families, I say NO to your project to rebuild a supermarket on this forsaken site. NO! To your sacrilege and defamation!!!
Stanley and Nabil Handal.
Countless other customers who also frequented your establishment in good faith and numerous employees who loyally served you undoubtedly chose the same, final resting place.Today, you want to rudely awaken them from their slumber?
